No News

No News is a work about digital weariness relating to news on social media and the associated comment sections. For many, the culture of discussion leads to the fact that one becomes too involved in insolvable conflicts. Being emotionally involved into discussions is a reason why they have become subjective instead of objective and fact - based. The presence of fake-news circulating in social media and them being hard to destinguish between real news makes it even harder to form factual conversations. I believe that in general the democratic use of comment sections is good and helps people express their opinions, but the anonymity of the users leads to seeing each other as just names instead of the real people behind them. Being overwhelmed by the comment secion has made me having breaks of social media crucial to my emotional well-being. I know I am not the only one, that is why I try to merge my digital frustration with analogue work.
